Theale Pre-School was officially formed in November 1965, and was held in the old Parish Room. The group has expanded with the growth of the village and has occupied Theale Village Hall since 1978.
Theale Under 5’s aims to provide a safe, happy stimulating and enjoyable environment in which each child can learn and develop to their fullest potential in their own time. We do this in partnership with parents, who we value as the first educators of young children.
We help each child to form relationships with both adults and other children; as well as developing their independence through a wide range of experiences and activities; so that they will be ready for the transition in to Nursery or Primary School.
The children can enjoy playing with sand, water, playdough, construction toys, cars, trains, dolls and prams; as well as painting, dressing-up, doing puzzles and reading books, along with many other activities.
These activities cover the following six areas of learning as specified in the Foundation Stage Profile set by the Department for Education and Skills (DFES):
